Hey folks, Nokia has started rolling out a new update for Nokia Asha 308 (RM-838): v. The update should be already available to most countries via FOTA and Nokia Suite. Find the update instructions from here: Key changes compared to previous 7.55 SW version include: • Improvements for video streaming. • Launchers for Mail For Exchange, Whatsapp, eBuddy and Youtube added. • Updated versions of Nokia Xpress Browser, Nokia Store, Notifications and News and Offers applications. • Updated versions of Email & Chat applications. Available via Nokia Suite.
A quick “heads up” for the Nokia Asha 308 (RM-838) 8.13 SW update that was published some time ago. This is a major update and available to most users both. Today, Nokia has announced the availability of a new software update for its Nokia Asha 308 smartphones, namely version 8.13, the same firmware release that.
• Updated versions of Twitter and Facebook. Available via Nokia Suite. • 10 new Gameloft games. Available via Nokia Suite. The updated Twitter, Facebook and eBuddy versions are expected to become available also to Nokia Store later.
If you plan to update the phone using Nokia Suite, make sure you install the latest Nokia Suite 3.8 client version first. You can get it from here: Note: if you update your Asha 308 to 8.13 SW version with Nokia Suite, you will get a new Email application that does not support Push Email Notifications and Email Scheduling. FOTA update on the other hand would keep the old Email application. If Push Email Notification and Email Polling are important features for you it is recommend to update the phone SW via FOTA.
If Push Email Notification and Email Scheduling are not important features for you, the phone SW update can safely be installed using Nokia Suite. With this new version of the Email application you can get Self-Updates when Nokia releases a newer version. I'm using the asha 309, but I think that it has the same interface.
When new update will come to Asha 309? Also, I'm not happy with some functions: 1. Why there is no app for them? It's integrated with calendar and has limit - only 30 notes!!! It's really a small amount - I'm using notes very often and this limit was a big dissapointment.
I think it will be really cool if notes will became a standalone app and will not have any limits. Calendar and lockscreen.
It includes an innovative user interface focused on ease of use and one-handed browsing. Gostinichnaya programma opera. Discontinued products [ ].
I think it would be nice if reminders and memos from calendar will be showing at lockscreen and the screen with clock, date and shortcuts - like a calendar widget. Like it was at S60 phones and I guess that Asha with qwerty keyboard has that function too. So why there is no such a function at Asha touch phones? It would be useful.
There is no copy/paste?! It must be fixed. I'm also not happy with the camera, but this is not software problem. But why Nokia using fixed focus?!
My previous phone was 5530 and it was perfect, but after 2 years of intensive using it started to falling apart. I wanted to buy new S60 smartphone, but this issue with fixed focus cameras forced me to buy an android phone (which I hate, but I have no choice 😞 ). I mean Asha seems nice, but Nokia must really do something with the cameras - if there will be Asha phone with autofocus and flash, I would run to the store and buy it immediately. Is there any possibility that all of this will be fixed in future software updates? Sorry for my English.
