Does anyone know if the Classic versions are going to be seperate steam items? My computer is close to 5 years old, but i would buy it so i could play the classic versions before my computer gets its long overdue replacement. But if im going to have to download and install the entire 20gb thing as a single program, and then have it not open because my computer doesn't have anywhere near the power to run the remastered versions, its not worth it to buy it now. Are the system requirements for the classic versions going to be lower or not? I have not heard an answer to that question.

I would assume that it could run classic, but it struggles to play modern games, and recommend stats are the only stats listed, and they say quad-core processor, usually that means that they want at least 2.8 dual-core, or at least thats what i oftan see. You should have no issues with the classic games and the remastered should be easily playable on mixed settings as they were never really all that hungry for a powerful computer since there is n't really anything to render past the ships unlike a normal earthbound game that has to render a complex environment like a city or town etc in addition to the vehicles.

I'd say the recommended specs are going to be for the multiplayer where having a good cpu is going to be key and for those that want to play on ultra settings. It has been heavily updated to work on Modern OS it needs to be properly QA'd, it has various prexisting bugs fixed, it has had minor balance tweaks applied and they will be working on such things until the 11th hour. Despite the language used you are not getting HW1 1.05 or HW2 1.1 You are getting HW1 1.06 and HW 2 1.2.
